Support to Life: Internationally renowned humanitarian aid organization founded with the principal objective of ensuring access to basic rights and needs for individuals and communities affected by natural or human-made disasters. Founded in 2005 by 5 women academics and humanitarian aid workers, STL carries out activities in Emergency Response, Refugee Support, Child Protection and Capacity Building in Civil Society, to improve the living conditions of people affected by natural or human-made disasters in Turkey.

STL supports access to basic rights and essential needs; aims to eliminate the risks for children living under dire conditions giving priority to seasonal agricultural workers; provides immediate aid services at times of disasters. Besides, STL works towards a civil society well-prepared to disasters.

STL works with the support of a headquarter based in Kadıköy/Istanbul and with field offices located in 12 provinces in Turkey (Adana, Adıyaman, Ankara, Batman, Diyarbakır, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Mersin, Şanlıurfa) as well as mobile teams.

Support to Life is looking  Accountability and Learning Expert (remote working).

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare sector, project and activity based accountability framework sheets.
  • Compile all accountability framework sheets and prepare accountability guideline.
  • According to designed regulation document prepare the annual Accountability plan, project and field based.
  • Supervise the CFCM team and observe the smooth implementation of hotline and virtual operator duties.
  • Work in harmonization with MEAL team and Quality and Capacity Unit.
  • Check the data entries of Receptionist to hotline system, provide the alert message for abnormal waiting list to responsible field managers.
  • Monitor the project based CFCM data and reflect them to regarding project or program staff in reporting periods.
  • Conducting spot checks to MoV upload system from field to HQ server and give alert to M&E Reporting Expert to stabiles the data uploads.
  • Check the new project logical frames and provide needed feedback regarding accountability tools and actions of the project.
  • Closely observe and maintain the Consent Form collection methodologies and give direct feedback to MEAL and program staff. Besides, be aware of the data warehouse regulations and digital record database of consent forms.
  • Follow up the accountability clusters and get in the accountability related due diligence meetings and kick off meetings provide needed information regarding accountability frame of the STL.
  • Closely observe and moderate the ethic committee related issues with ultimate delicacy
  • Reports to the MEAL Manager for the regular and periodic activities of CFCM and Accountability issues.
  • Maintain the orientation of new staff based on CFCM and accountability framework.
  • AL Expert will facilitate the grasping programmatic learnings and sustain the systematic learning cycle to program or project development units.
  • Designing systematic data collection tool for best practices and success stories.
  • Closely work with MEAL team members and derive crucial learning info from Monitoring Visit Reports and FGD reports.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree from a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in humanitarian sector in Accountability and Learning  focused departments
  • Minimum 1 year team management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Turkish
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to write and consolidate clear and effective assessment and project reports
  • Good understanding of engagement with the humanitarian context and the key principles of accountability, impartiality, neutrality, independence and cooperation
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation with adaptable communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and deadlines; and manage the meal officers’ processes as a team leader
  • Willingness to travel within Turkey
